An independent journalist, situated in Baku, Azerbaijan, Ulviyya Karimova, professionally known as Ulviyya Shahin, commenced her journalistic journey subsequent to obtaining a Bachelor of Humanities and Social Sciences degree, specializing in Translation (Azerbaijan-English-Arabic), from Khazar University. This transformative phase in her career transpired in 2011, subsequent to her inaugural collaboration with the "Merkez" newspaper in Baku, where she undertook the translation of foreign and global news articles from a myriad of languages, including English, Russian, Turkish, and Arabic. Her purview encompassed the comprehensive coverage of matters pertaining to societal and economic domains.
Upon the advent of September 2012, she embarked upon a new chapter in her career through her affiliation with "Telegraph" Media Holding. The intervening years, from 2014 to 2021, witnessed Ulviyya Shahin's active participation in diverse media platforms such as Mediaxeber.az, Axar.az, Pressklub.az, AYNA.az, and E-huquq.az. During 2021, she pursued her academic aspirations by enrolling in the MA Multimedia Journalism and Media Management program at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs in Tbilisi, Georgia. Throughout her educational voyage, she secured success in multiple projects within Georgia and concurrently maintained her engagement with Azerbaijani media outlets. Her focal point shifted towards elucidating the social and economic challenges encountered by ethnic minorities, specifically Azerbaijanis, residing in Georgia.
The summer of 2022 witnessed her participation in an internship with Meydan TV, where she adeptly crafted visual narratives comprising video and photo stories. Ulviyya Shahin acquired practical expertise in Norway, concurrently pursuing academic endeavors through the utilization of Erasmus+ Programme Scholarships at NLA University College (Norway), where she engaged in the study of Global Journalism.
Presently, in collaboration with the International Eurasia Press Fund, Ulviyya Shahin's journalistic endeavors are concentrated on the elucidation of subjects entwined with foreign policy matters.
